Clothing

What should I wear:

Everyone...
  1. Hiking boots or shoes--well broken in before Trek. Try to avoid wearing mesh shoes that can allow sand into your socks which makes it easier to get blisters.
  2. A comfortable pair of shoes to wear around the camp.
  3. Clean changes of underwear
  4. One set of pajamas to sleep in
  5. Three pairs of moisture wicking socks (optional: sock liners)
  6. Work gloves
  7. Sweatshirt and windbreaker, or warm coat
  8. Lightweight rain poncho
Young Women...
  1. Two above ankle length dresses with long sleeves or two ankle length skirts (full enough to comfortably walk in them). If wearing skirts, you will need two long sleeved blouses (no t-shirts, logos or sheer fabrics allowed).
  2. Two pantaloons (leggings or scrubs or pajama pants are fine) ankle length to be worn under the skirt to help prevent bug bites and minimize dirt.
  3. Bonnet or wide brimmed straw hat with tie on chin strap for securing to head (no baseball caps)
  4. One or two aprons with recommended pockets
  5. Simple pioneer skirt with apron
  6. Simple pioneer bonnet
Young Men...
  1. Two pair long loose fitting cotton pants (no jeans or shorts of any length are allowed)
  2. Two long sleeved loose fitting button up shirts. Light colors will be cooler (no t-shirts or logos allowed)
  3. Suspenders or belt
  4. One wide brimmed hat with tie on chin strap for securing to head (no baseball caps)
  5. Simple pioneer shirt
